Our new 'REVOLUTION' muzzle management concept was born out of many years of experience in developing barrel mounted compensator systems for the locked breach pistol. We began work on muzzle control devices back in the late 1970's. During that time Paul designed an iron sighted compensated carry pistol packaged to fit within the envelope of a standard length 1911 and called it the "Carry Comp". He fired the pistol in the 1983 Bianchi Cup, not only placing very high in the overall, but also winning the Barricade event with a record score. This proved that compact carry guns were not only a technical viability, but accuracy could be retained sufficiently to engaged competition targets out to 50yds and beyond.

Now, we've taken the muzzle mounted compensator to a new level; changing the paradigm to eliminate the previous limitation of expansion chamber comps. The new Pistol Dynamics Revolution Compensator for competition and carry eliminates almost all of the technical reasons not to have one.

How it works: The 'RevoComp' is not a traditional muzzle mounted chamber design that is attached to the end of a barrel. The system has a full length barrel shrouded by a housing that, by design, is a visual extention of the slide. Although the housing serves as an expansion chamber, the pressure feed for the chamber is delivered by an intricate circuit of nozzles machined into the barrel itself. This allows full support for the bullet until it leaves the muzzle, preventing many of the potential maladies indicative in traditional compensator designs. Further, because the pressure is controlled by nozzles, the compensator can be finely tuned to application and caliber, affording us a tuning tool unavailable up to now. We even have slide acceleration technology for light load applications such as that used for Steel Challenge guns

The housing can be removed for service without upsetting bore alignments. The lock ring for the system also serves to retain our Interchangeable Sight System, giving the shooter even more control over the format of the pistol.

Ordering: Pistol Dynamics Revolution Comp Guns are available on our major platforms, i.e. Signature, Combat Special, Scout and IPSC chassis. We are building them in controlled batches with the barrel, compensator and ignition system in place but the rest of the pistol left unfinished and in the white for the customer to spec out required features and finish (similar to that which is shown in the images on this page). Slides are left bald to make place for electronic or iron sights.

We do not take orders for Comp Guns. We accept no-charge reservations for the units and notify those on the waiting list when rolling chassis are available. Please call if you have any questions.

Price: Up charge on base pistol packages for Revo Carry Comps or full length IPSC or Steel Challenge guns - $900

Pros:

o Barrel extends the full length of the comp body i.e. a 5" pistol has a 5" barrel etc.

o You get back 50fps that you lose with a conventional compensator.

o No expansion chamber related bullet destabilization.

o No exit port bullet deflection concerns.

o Fully serviceable. Comp body can be removed for cleaning and tuning.

o Maximized accuracy potential

Cons:

Cost: The Revolution comp system is a close tolerance, precisely machined interrelated unit that is expensive to produce.

Availability: Because of the technical and time related issues associated with the design the pistols will only be available in limited quantities.
