| Robert E. Hunt is a member of the Pistol Dynamics team with extensive experience spanning six generations of firearms training and program development. His firearms experience began in the 1950's in the US Marine Corps as a competitive shooter. During his career in the Massachusetts State Police he served as Director of Marksmanship and Firearms Tactical Training; retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Subsequently, as Director of the Smith & Wesson Academy he formulated instructor certified firearms training program management courses that were conducted worldwide. | ||||||
| During his tenure at S&W, the Academy grew to be the largest accredited private firearms training facility in the world. Parallel commitments included eight years service as President of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors where he directed all annual training conferences for the 2500 member organization. Bob now holds the distinction of honorary life member. Recipient of the American Handgunner Award, Bob has written numerous articles on firearms training and served as editor of the S&W Academy newsletter, as well as, the Firearms Instructor Magazine; the official newsletter of IALEFI. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy where he holds the distinction of qualifying as a member of the 'Possible Club', denoting a perfect score in the FBI national firearms course. Bob holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Northeastern University. A continuing interest in firearms and edged weapons has led Bob to author three books on Randall Made Knives and will be applying his skills to document the development of the 1911 as a custom handgun in the future.
