The Pistol Dynamics competition Bullseye gun relies on a fairly traditional locked breach mechanism with slide mounted sighting system but includes the PD wide link and Spherical Barrel bushing for ultimate target performance. The guns are custom built on the new Pistol Dynamics forged and machined slide and frame. There is an optional short stroke slide and frame set which reduces the slide travel by about two tenths of an inch, maximizing the slide velocity and reducing the amount of dwell at the end of the slide stroke. This produces a pistol with a very quick recoil moment.

Barrels are hand selected and bench tested Pistol Dynamics parts machined from a Bar-Sto supplied rifled blanks. The barrels are perfectly mated dimensionally to the slide and frame and are custom chambered for the caliber to be used. The entire mechanism is also toleranced to allow for part expansion.

The slide features the ultra reliable PD external extractor system and is ported and dimpled to efficiently eject the spent case without impacting the aluminum scope mount. This is important because a clean ejection pattern prevents cartridge deflection that can result in a trapped case and the shooter having to rely on an alibi when they least need it.

The Pistol Dynamics 'Ultimate' is hand built by Paul Liebenberg on a one-off basis and sells for approximately $3000 without optics.
